OMEGA INSTALLS A PAVILION IN PARIS BERCY FOR THE 2024 OLYMPIC GAMES

5 August 2024 by Flora

The Swiss luxury watchmaker invites you to enjoy an immersive experience during the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Located in the Parc de Bercy, the luxury brand OMEGA had the brilliant idea of setting up a Pavilion for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Free and open to all, the Pavilion allows visitors to immerse themselves recreationally in the world of timekeeping. Like a museum, the brand is showcasing its role as Official Timekeeper of the Olympic and Paralympic Games since 1932.

Right from the start of the queue outside the Pavilion, OMEGA recounts the highlights of its history with the Olympic and Paralympic Games. A powerful legacy which today celebrates its 92nd year of partnership.

Latest-generation innovations

Once inside, a hostess welcomes us and explains how some of OMEGA’s most important timekeeping equipment works, with key figures. We are then invited to watch an introductory film about the brand.

Throughout the tour, we discover the major innovations of this official partnership. We start with an immersive “Race of Champions” experience where everyone can test their sprinting skills. Thanks to a 10m running track and a simulated stadium, participants can experience the race for themselves. Once placed on real starting blocks, they can virtually compete with real athletes and compare their times.

OMEGA then uses Artificial Intelligence to produce a video and publish it on social networks.

From the electronic start gun to the new Scan’O’vision ultimate photofinish camera and the Dernier Tour bell, OMEGA is dedicating a wall to their timing innovations.

“Throughout its history, OMEGA has always been a pioneer as the Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games”

Alain Zobrist, directeur général d’OMEGA Timing.

An immersive experience

The experience continues with swimming-related innovations. You first dive under the water of a pool to discover underwater technologies before trying out diving innovations. From Michael Phelps to Léon Marchand, OMEGA also highlights their greatest ambassadors through biographies in lockers and videos.

The Omega Pavilion is open to the public from 10am to 10pm every day of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This includes the dates 27 July to 11 August and 28 August to 8 September 2024. Admission is free of charge.

DISCOVER THE ON FLAGSHIP, ON CHAMPS-ELYSÉES

1 August 2024 by Flora

On Running on the Champs-Elysées is over 1,500m², 3 floors and a symbol of ambition.

Warmly greeted by the sales staff waiting at the front door, we quickly discover a spacious, uncluttered boutique. With its reputation for innovation, On is once again bringing its creative vision to life in this shop with its modern design. For their largest shop on the world’s most beautiful avenue, the Swiss brand drew inspiration from the city’s textures and materials to design the shop. Founded on and for the running culture, On quickly made its mark on the sportswear market with its cloud soles. It’s an unprecedented innovation that’s perfectly suited to the sometimes tough Parisian cobbles. Challenge accepted!

‘The Avenue des Champs-Elysées is a legendary location for Parisians and tourists from all over the world. This space allows us to exhibit a wide range of collections, and we have placed particular emphasis on design, a new vector for presenting our range of clothing’.

Diana Dowling, head of retail design chez On Running.

Spread over 3 levels, the ground floor welcomes visitors with capsule collections, limited editions and collaborations. Currently on display are pieces selected by the multi-talented artist and current brand ambassador Zendaya. There are also items created for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The space is very large, and the colours and materials are industrial, highlighting the brand’s products.

Like an exhibition, the basement showcases running. The first thing you notice is the sober, functional design. The metal cupboards highlight the pairs of shoes. Mannequins dressed in sportswear are running. The shoes are broken down to explain the different materials and techniques that make this brand so unique.

The tennis court and lifestyle space is on the second floor, accessible via a staircase or by lift. With Roger Federer as a minority shareholder in the Swiss brand, On is aiming high and hitting the sportswear market hard. This powerful partnership takes pride of place on the first floor, where Roger’s tennis products are on display.

Out of curiosity, the Lemens team tried on these famous cloud shoes. We quickly realised why we were seeing so much of them on people’s feet… Challenge accomplished!

65-67 avenue des Champs-Élysées, 75008 Paris
Open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 9pm, and Sunday from 10am to 8.30pm.
